Conservation Scorecard viewer & worksheet
The Conservation Scorecard viewer and worksheet are designed to be used together to determine the conservation value of a property. Simply print out the worksheet, open the viewer, and fill out the worksheet using information determined from either the viewer or a site visit.The scorecard prioritizes lands for acquisition by producing a single number--the conservation value--for each parcel of land evaluated. Using this scorecard shifts conservation from a reactive approach to a proactive one, and focuses conservation efforts on the most ecologically significant resources.
The scorecard is ideally suited for activities such as preparing Open Space and Recreation Plans, prioritizing municipal or land trust open space acquisitions, or for identifying ecologically similar parcels of land when transferring development rights.
In order to derive a conservation value, you will need access to the Conservation Scorecard viewer and Conservation Scorecard worksheet.
